The Regulation 2020/2081, which was published last 14 December 2020, modifies the aforementioned Annex XVII regulation, relating to registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of substances and chemical mixtures (REACH), regarding substances contained in tattoo inks or permanent makeup, and beyond entry 75. Its application is mandatory in all its elements and directly applicable in each member state.

We have two points with different entries in force; A (04/01/2022) and B (04/01/2023)

• A (04/01/2022): This point is for suppliers who sell a tattoo mix, they must ensure that specifications are established on the label and that their manufacturers comply with them.
  Another of the changes in this part of the regulation is the reduction of the percentage of different micro formulas and components for the paint vehicle, an example would be the PH regulator, among other components, which is reduced from 0.10% to 0. 01%, making it difficult to create a stable and functional formula for dermopigmentation.
• B (01/04/2023): Here the use of two very important raw materials, blue 15 and green 7, which are bases for all cold colors and for 60% of the color chart, which will affect all brands producing tattoo inks and micropigmentation in Europe.
